Am I eligible to participate in the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) or Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (A-CSPO) programs?

To receive your A-CSM (or A-CSPO) certification, candidates must satisfy four eligibility requirements:

  1. Be a current holder of an active Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) credential from the Scrum Alliance.
  2. Have a minimum of one year of work experience as a ScrumMaster (for A-CSM) or Product Owner (for A-CSPO) listed on your Scrum Alliance profile. Your one year of work experience must be from within the last five years.
  3. Your Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) instructor validates that you have satisfactorily completed all the learning objectives associated with your certification (A-CSM or A-CSPO).
  4. Participate in at least four Coaching Circles led by one of your CST instructors.
My goal is to become a Certified Scrum Professional-SM (CSP-SM) or Certified Scrum Professional-PO (CSP-PO).  What do I have to do?

To receive your CSP-SM (or CSP-PO) certification, candidates must satisfy four eligibility requirements:

  1. Be a current holder of an active A-CSM or A-CSPO credential from the Scrum Alliance.
  2. Have a minimum of two years of work experience as a ScrumMaster (for CSP-SM) or Product Owner (for CSP-PO) listed on your Scrum Alliance profile.  Your two years of work experience must be from within the last five years.
  3. Your CST instructor validates that you have satisfactorily completed all the learning objectives associated with your certification (CSP-SM or CSP-PO).
  4. Participate in at least four Coaching Circles led by one of your CST instructors.
Do I have to take an exam at the end of the program to receive my certification (A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM or CSP-PO)?

Nope.  The new education program from the Scrum Alliance places a strong emphasis on validated work experience in order receive the more advanced certifications.  That means your CST instructors are looking for evidence that you can put into practice what you have learned in the program with a Scrum\Agile team.  Once you have demonstrated to your instructors that you can use what you have learned and have attended at least four Coaching Circles, they will then grant your certification.

I have not yet acquired to required experience as a ScrumMaster (or Product Owner) to receive my certification (A-CSM, A-CSPO, CSP-SM or CSP-PO).  Can I still participate in the program?

Absolutely! The main idea behind CSP Fast Pass is to give you new skills, abilities and a peer network to accelerate your professional growth.  There is no need to wait to level up on your talents.  Once you have the required experience, have satisfactorily completed all the learning objectives and attended at least four Coaching Circles, you will receive your certification.

How much time will I need to complete my certification program?

Most CSP Fast Pass participants compete their certification program within four to six months of starting their first on-line course.  We have found that when learners go at this pace, about one on-line course a week, this enables them to achieve maximum impact for their team, products and professional growth.  To get the most out of your Agile journey with CSP Fast Pass, we recommend taking your time to find the right opportunities to put into practice what you learned on-line, reflect on that experience and look for ways to improve.  This is not a program that can be completed in a week, so don’t even try it.

I like the idea of a complete program with coaching and mentoring, but I cannot commit to four months.  Is there a place in this program for me?

Sure!  When you join CSP Fast Pass, you have access to all the on-line videos, lessons, quizzes, resources and Coaching Circles for up to one year.  Because CSP Fast Pass is an on-demand program, you set pace and order of your Agile journey.  If you want (or have) to take a break, take a break.  We will be here when you come back.

I really like the idea of the Coaching Circles and using them to interact with the instructors.  Can I attend more than four?

Yes!  In fact, we think you will get more value out of the program the more you interact with your instructors and the other participants in the program.  Currently, we have one Coaching Circle scheduled per week.  That means you have the opportunity to attend up to 50 Coaching Circles in a year!  And if you are the only one to attend, that is a private coaching session between you and an experienced Scrum and Agile professional.

I am looking to renew my existing certification with the Scrum Alliance.  Can I still participate?

Definitely! Participation in the various CSP Fast Pass programs will earn you 1 SEU for every hour you spend in a Coaching Circle or completing an on-line course.  For instance, if you spend two hours completing an on-line course on coaching executives, you will receive 2 SEU.  If you need three hours to finish the lesson on user stories, you earn 3 SEU.

I am not that into Scrum and certifications, but you have some really interesting on-line courses that would help me and my Agile team. Can I sign-up for one or more of these courses?

Yep! CSP Fast Pass is designed to help you stay current with the latest trends in Scrum, Agile, Kanban and Lean Thinking. If you are just interested in taking part in just one, or more, of these on-line courses we have an a la carte option just for you.

I do not have any experience in Scrum and Agile.  Does CSP Fast Pass make sense for me?

Probably not 🙁  CSP Fast Pass is specifically engineered to support active practitioners who have a minimum of three months of experience working with Scrum and Agile teams.  We recommend that you take a Certified ScrumMaster or Certified Product Owner course before beginning this program.  If you are looking to start your Agile journey, both Jason and Carlton can get you started.
